Elena G. Davis

Owner & Founder

At the age of 14, Elena relocated to New York with her mother, father and young brother from their home in Russia. Thrust into a new culture with a new language, Elena was quick to notice the signs and images surrounding her and the role they held in communicating with and influencing the wide variety of people she now called her neighbors. She witnessed how effective design broke down barriers.

In college, Elena excelled in mathematics and enrolled in computer science courses. She earned extra money as a pharmacy technician for big box retail stores and considered studying to become a pharmacist. But then she took an art class and creativity became her passion.

Elena earned an associate of arts degree from Daytona Beach Community College and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and graphic design from the University of Florida.

Soon after graduation in 2002, Elena moved to Raleigh with her future husband, Jay. She began a job as a graphic designer for a sign company and wide-format printer where she helped clients develop and implement their corporate identities.

In 2005, after many years working for others in local print and graphics companies, Elena founded galanova, a full-service design firm based in Raleigh that specializes in branding, web design, signage, advertising, marketing and everything in between. She oversees all aspects of galanova’s successful growth as a business. Clients benefit from Elena’s professionalism, strategic approach and her experience of working with local and national brands. She’s passionate about helping small start-ups, established businesses and non-profits reach their target audience.

Elena is a member of the Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce and the Cardinal & Capitol City Clubs in Raleigh. She’s involved with Women in Networking, Northern Wake Leads Group and BNI International.

In her limited free time, Elena enjoys spending time with with her husband and young daughter.
